A regional study on the economic significance of the film production industry in the canton of Zurich has been published for the first time. The study, conducted by BAK economic intelligence on behalf of Film Commission Zurich, highlights the economic impact of the audiovisual industry in the region.

The results underscore the central role played by the film industry: with around 600 film productions per year, Zurich is the leading canton in Switzerland. These productions make not only a cultural contribution, but also a significant economic one.

"The study clearly shows how important the film industry is for the economy and the attractiveness of the canton," emphasize Anna Schindler and Dino Malacarne in an interview with the NZZ (August 12, 2024).
